Can anyone tell me what are Fire Alarm End Devices?
I'm working on a maintenance schedule, and I have no idea what these are. If it's a group of devices, please give examples.
Thanks

I would say the mosy obvious answer is in reference to the end of line monitoring devices, ie: resistors, capacitors, diodes that are in place at the end of each circuit to allow monitoring of the status of the circuit by the panel.
There would be one at the end of each conventional detection circuit, each alarm/sounder circuit, monitored output circuits etc.

Further to dd's reply, whilst most EOL devices are fitted to the last piece of equipment on each monitored circuit, sometimes these are an additional standalone item of equipment (sometimes with circuit testing facilities built into them). If the EOLs have been specifically been mentioned in a maintenance schedule, I would guess that they might be of the standalone type.
Most systems we go to have them in the panel then you know where they are and don,t loose them.

Hiya Kevin.
Could you explain how the EOL situated in a panel would monitor the complete zone/sounder cable? Or are you using 4 core cable on each zone/sounder cable ie 2 out and 2 back in?
Cheers.
LOZ!
i took it as a pee take to sparky/diy take overs - hope so anyway, lol

ADI,s right although you can actually have all the EOL,s in the panel connected and monitoring the zones only using 2 core

Do tell...
I would really like to know how to do this?
